A Find
Today, I went on an unplanned trip of thrifting. Although I wasn’t too successful this time around, I did find something. I found a cape! At this boutique in Burbank, I found this gorgeous tan color cape. It is handmade and was bought for $15. For a cape like this, I think it was worth the money.
Classy button.

A Trip to Downtown LA
Yesterday, I ventured out to the Fashion District with a friend of mine. In particular, we explored the beads section, mainly on Maple Street. We went to a variety of shops that carried all sorts of supplies in making jewelry. We found an array of different beads, from glass to semi precious stones. We found spools of chains, suede cords, and the like. It was like a huge candy factory for jewelry...

DoItYourself
I have decided to start do it yourself projects. I am not professionally trained, but it has always amazed me how people can make such great things on their own. I have decided to do the same. I started, actually, a few months ago while still at school. A close friend of mine had talked about finding a bead store that allows its customers to make jewelry there and also use their supplies. We went...

Stacy Sterling Jewelry's "Catch Your Spirits Glow"...
In relation to me relaunching mode.GAPER, I had the privilege to attend Stacy Sterling Jewelry’s “Catch Your Spirits Glow” Launch Party this past Thursday in Venice, CA. The event was held at Alberto Bevacqua Studio which created an intimate atmosphere for invited guests to enjoy the party.
Designer Stacy Sterling has been designing jewelry since 2004 and her homemade...
Relaunching of mode.GAPER
It’s been almost two long years! A much longer hiatus than I had expected. I was so busy with school while in Tokyo that I could not separate enough time to focus on this blog. But, now that I have returned to Los Angeles and graduated I have a bit more time than before. I will try to post as often as I can although I will be working soon and time will once again be cut short. I hope you can...

Hiatus until the New Year
and a few days bit more. I am going to be leaving Tokyo and will be traveling to OSAKA! I will continue to take pictures, but I will not be able to access the internet while I am there so I won’t be able to update any pictures just yet. I will not only be in Osaka, but I will also go to Kyoto. I can’t wait to see the fashions worn in these two places!!! Once I return to Tokyo, I will...

One step down
Seeing guys in coats makes me go gaga!!! I just think the coat makes everything look sophisticated and can go with any outfit. Here is a more casual outfit.

After a night with friends
Winter is here and it is getting even colder. I love coats and here is another fabulous picture featuring one. I really like how she is wearing a dress that is long enough to peak out of her coat. The dress looks beautiful!!! I love the pattern!!
I really like these boots!!!!! The brown boots balances the outfit.

Waiting for the moment
I honestly really like this picture! Turned out really well!!! For one, I love coats and I love this one. The Armani scarf compliments the gray color of the coat and matches well with the jeans and boots. Well done.
Armani.
Coat. Loves!!!!
The wolf pendant is really interesting. Perhaps, a wolf hiding underneath the coat?
Bags are quite popular among the men here.

A burst of color
Who says that wearing an all black ensemble can’t have a little bit of color? Love the Burberry down jacket.
Abundance of color in this twead dress.

The Coat
It is all about the coat this winter. I love the front of this coat!!! From the buttons to the thread. Work it!
Wow. Definitely love it.
I was never a fan of over the knee boots, but strange enough I am starting to like them (although they probably wouldn’t good on me as they do on her).
Everyone is wearing headbands! A classy touch. Animal print.

Something new
She is wearing a simplistic outfit; a black turtleneck (sorry i didn’t get a good shot of the collar), a loose pink cardigan, and a dark gray skirt with traces of shiny thread. This combination appears to be the typical nice girl look (at least to me). But then you get to the boots…
A little edge.
A closer look.

The Red Shoes
She braves through the cold in a flower print skirt and tights.
I love the rose print! I seriously need to get a flower print skirt or dress for myself soon!
These red patent leather high heels are simple and chic.
Forget-me-not pendant.

Chains and Chile
So I was at an International party and saw some really stylish people! I love the color purple and cannot get enough of it! I like how she is layering and playing with the different shades of purple.
The chains add a little bit of a hip hop feel in my opinion. Looks good!
I really like the lining of these boots! A little punk.

Work day
An outfit that has a hint of casualness.
I really like that pattern of the tie! A hidden surprise.
So true
I saw this on my friend’s facebook and I had to post! Sorry, but it’s true. Corduroy skirts ARE a SIN.

Finished product!
So after a month, I have finally finished my circular scarf! It’s not too impressive, but it’s pretty good considering it is my first scarf I have ever made and I learned how to crochet online. Dang, pretty good.
I need to make the next one way wider!
I don’t know how to properly connect the two ends together so I invented my own method.

Green. Seriously, an underrated color sometimes. I don’t see green to often and it’s nice to see it on many lovely outfits once in a while. I really love how the green sweater falls, leaving a soft ruffle effect. The dark green and black paired with the white pea coat creates a great contrast. Does not leave the outfit boring.
These boots look amazing! I love the color and the...

The Autumn leaves
Yellow leaves are everywhere and I had to take a picture! One of my friends was looking very much like an All American Boy. He is wearing a dress shirt with a tie under a sweater with a hooded blazer.
He is able to pull off a formal look that is in a more casual setting, by the hooded blazer.
Blue and red always makes a good combination.
Pinstripes.
And the hood.
Back on track
I am so sorry that I was on such a “long” hiatus!! Midterms just made me super lazy. After all that studying, I did not want to go take pictures of people. Well, I am slowly picking up the pace and starting to take those photos again! Yay me! Hopefully, I will be able to snap away like crazy!
Love with a kiss,

Nail Art
I am so sorry for the long delay!!! I’ve been pretty lazy because of midterms. >.< But I decided to show off my new nails.
Took a whole movie to do.
The nail polish is a dark sapphire color. The new black! I bought the polish from The Face Shop, a Korean brand. I was actually surprised to see this brand here in Japan. Even more surprising, it is in Shibuya.
The flowers are...

Euro fashion in Japan. The print on her shirt captures my eye. I like how she is wearing a cardigan and then a thicker sweater on top. Layering is the way to go!

I love these boots! Look so vintage!

Brush stroke
I love this dress!!! I feel like I am looking at a painting with clear brush strokes against canvas. But then again, fashion is art. The jean jacket is slowly coming back from the 90’s. Loves! The fur (faux?) scarf adds a classy chic feel.
Art right?
Cowboy boots with a bit of edge.

Illumination
I am on week 2 of my midterms. So sad. I am currently working on my take home midterm and will be out of commission for a couple of days; until Thursday I hope. But, I was passing through Shinjuku and got to experience “Illumination.” Thought I would share with you.
All this blue and Christmas decorations makes me want to dress in more wintergear! Practically in the color...

One moment with you...
I want a leather jacket bad!!! Everyone is sporting them and I have yet to find the perfect one for me. Even though it is less then 50 degrees Fahrenheit, she is still rocking the jacket! But then again, leather jackets are warm.
A layered flower print dress.
Sparkly tights with a pair of simple high heels.

The Gaze
Look at those tights. They are LOUD! Not in a bad way though. I haven’t seen too much of the color golden poppy. I was never really a fan of anything yellow, but these pair of tights have changed my mind. I have grown an appreciation for this color. Paired with those hot shoes, nothing can go wrong.
The fur trim of this work coat is removable!

Russian winter.
The long coat and the furry hat reminds me of a cold Russian winter, although I have never been to Russia.
Doesn’t it remind you of a hat worn during a cold Russian winter?
Checkered scarf. Classic.
I thought it would be nice to include this sleek messenger bag.

Hidden animal
What I really like about this outfit is the combination of leopard print on the sides of his sweater and the crossed pistols on his scarf (?- don’t know if I can call it that). Two opposites in one outfit.
Leopard.
Those pistols are smoking.
Everyone is rocking lace up boots!!! Love it!!!!

This is the reason why I love blanket circle scarves, you can wear it as a hood!
Love this animal brooch.
Still rocking the paisley.
I love these boots!!!

KD- My inner French
After crappy weather and not so fashionable days, the skies were clear and I decided to style it up! I am wearing a blue coat from H&M, white spaghetti strap shirt and gray pants from Urban Outfitters, I.N.C. pumps, vintage scarf and a strand of rose pearls.
My scarf with famous monuments of Paris.

Something always intrigues us Americans to Japanese Fashion, and something always intrigues the Japanese to American Fashion. Here is the perfect situation where an American style spoke to Japanese designer, Aya Furuhashi, to create a line that would definitely be a crowd pleaser in the states. Break
This week is going to be a little hectic. Midterms are here and I am going to be studying for them like CRAZY. I am not sure if I will be able to do a lot of updating, but I will try my best to. The weather hasn’t been too great either. It’s really hard to take such nice pictures with my crappy camera. >.< Hopefully this weather lets up and I can take some pictures!!!

Release the animal
Animal print is on the prowl. This print is in revival and everywhere I look, there is animal print. I wasn’t so much an animal print lover, but I am jumping on the band wagon. I LOVE IT!!! This particular print is not overtly crazy. The smalls roses in the print adds a sweetness and compliments the color well.
Along with the leather jacket, you can’t say no.
